Michelle Obama has been busy sashaying around in pretty Preen dresses and attending dinners and parties since she and her two daughters Sasha and Malia landed in the UK this week. And while she's been wined and dined since her arrival, one of the appointments she was no doubt looking forward to the most was her tea date with Prince Harry. Can you blame the woman?
The FLOTUS and the Brit royal initially bonded back in 2013 when their mirrored efforts in various charities inevitably brought them together and a rather global friendship was born. So, it comes as no real surprise that their meeting was somewhat low-key in comparison to the rest on her agenda during her stay.
It was during their tea meet, held at Kensington Palace on Tuesday, that Mrs Obama presented the Prince with gifts to pass on to his nephew George and his new baby niece Charlotte. And needless to say, her present choice was on point.
The gifts for Prince William and Kate Middleton's new arrival Princess Charlotte consisted of an alpaca blanket (the same as the one Michelle and her husband The President of the United States Barack Obama gave to George at his birth — such a nice touch), and an adorable wooden rocking chair.
And what did Prince George receive? Amish-made red Berlin Flyer P-Wee Wagon. Yep, they went all-out Americana on that one. We bet the little Prince will LOVE riding around in that down the corridors of Anmer Hall. Better stock up on the floor polish, Kate.
Michelle was in London with her daughters to raise awareness of the Let Girls Learn initiative of which she is heavily a part of and aims to promote education for adolescent girls all over the world. If that's not a worthy cause, we don't know what is.
One things for sure; we bet the Royal kiddies can't wait for Michelle's next visit...
