Michael Jackson’s Neverland ranch is finally up for sale, so get those purses ready! The property can be yours for the small (read eye-watering) price tag of $100m, and is located just outside of Santa Barbara, California.
Having bought the property for $19.5m in 1987, Neverland’s 2700 acres of land now boast 22 buildings and a 12,000 square foot six bedroom house, nestled cosily between the property’s two (yes, two) lakes. The ranch has been restored and renamed to Sycamore Valley Ranch (the property’s original name), removing the infamous theme park and exotic animals in favour of chic cabanas and water features.
While we admit we’d love a rollercoaster in our back garden, we wouldn’t say no to the movie theatre with private viewing balcony, basketball and tennis courts, BBQ area, two guest houses and stunning swimming pool. Phew, we’d need a week just to clean!
Neverland might just have been the wildest celebrity home in the world, but others have certainly tried to compete for the title. Grayson Perry recently unveiled A House for Essex, a habitable work of art that looks straight out of a Wes Anderson film, decorated with hand-made tiles and Grayson Perry original paintings and pottery.
Lady Gaga practices a spot of ten-pin bowling whenever she feels like it, thanks to a bowling alley in her $23m Malibu property. We like to think Gaga and fiancé Taylor Kinney get competitive after a hard day of being superstars.
Power couple Jay Z and Beyonce have reportedly had their eye on an $85m mansion that comes complete with a sweet room – we bet Blue Ivy is a fan of this house! We’re picturing Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Carter style.
Our personal favourite? Drake’s pad which features stables, a cinema room, volleyball and tennis courts and an outdoor pool complete with waterfalls, cave cubbies and mood lighting. If that wasn’t enough, he also has a small cottage to get cosy in.
