Anna Friel has kept us guessing with a career that could never be called predictable. From that lesbian kiss in Brookside this Northern lass's career has gone stellar.
After her soap opera stint she went on to appear on Broadway and then it was on to Hollywood where she took the lead role in Pushing Daisies (which earned her a Golden Globe nomination). Most recently she's been playing Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's in London's West End.
We were invited to Anna's house for tea (well, a cuppa) and it turns out the actress's abode is not the slick designer crib you might expect of a Hollywood actress… It is in fact a treasure trove of antique finds: 'I collect antiques. Even the lights in this room range from the 1800s to early 1900s.'
Though the 33-year-old is looking elfin and youthful she's honest about plastic surgery saying: 'I'm not going to say I wouldn't have anything done, because I'd be a liar. I'm sure I'll be one of those people who has bits of tweaking. I haven't done Botox because I'm scared that I won't be able to move my face.'
Now onto that wardrobe. When we visited Anna, her dresser/assistant Anya was busy sorting out her extensive wardrobe into piles of 'maybes, keepers and throwers'.
Turns out that the parade of gorgeous stage-door outfits we saw her wearing after finishing Breakfast at Tiffany's every night were all thrown together in a matter of minutes: 'I already had my make-up done so it was simply a matter of going through the clothes in my dressing room with Anya and saying "Let's put that with that."'
