Some may call it a risky move but we love a good turn up for the books in the fashion and celeb world. Alongside appointing a relatively unknown chief designer, the Spanish Estrella Archs, choosing the controversial celeb Lindsay Lohan as artistic consultant is part of a new strategy to revitalise the brand that’s failed to make an impression in its last three collections.
“Odds are it could work,” Ungaro’s chief executive officer Mounir Moufarrige told WWD. “Everything we’re going to get is going to be a plus. I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big.”
Too right! And Lilo herself is excited about her new career move, hoping to move Emanuel Ungaro to a “younger place.”
When asked about what is involved in her new role, Lohan said she “kind of oversees everything [Archs] does, while working with her. Different generations have different ideas.”
And when Archs was asked about the potential difficulties of such a collaboration, she replied honestly and amusingly: “Have you ever met two women who agree completely in fashion?”
Good point Archs! We can’t wait to see the result when their first collection debuts in Paris on 4 October.
