Writing on her It’s Not Alright blog early yesterday morning, the feisty pop princess Lily Allen announced she will not be making another album nor does she have plans to tour again in the future.
‘Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record (applause),’ Lily blogged.
She went on to say, ‘I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade.’
Lily uses the blog to protest against music piracy, which seems to play a part in her decision to hang up her microphone.
‘The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned, so I don’t (at this point) stand to profit from legislation.’
Well it’s not as if Miss Allen will be twiddling her thumbs. With modelling for Chanel and her own jewellery line under her belt, Lily will now focus on acting.
Making a recent cameo on Neighbours, Lily is also set to tread the boards in the stage production of Neil La Bute’s Reasons to be Pretty. The play follows a group of working-class friends tired of their dead-end lives and is ‘about themes close to my heart’, says Allen.
