Life of Pi and Les Miserables look set to win big at the EE British Acadamy Film Awards, both receiving a staggering nine nominations…

Awards season will kick off with a bang on Sunday when the Golden Globes take place, but today it was the turn of our home-grown EE British Acadamy Film Awards 2013 to take centre stage, as the nominations were announced today by Jeremy Irvine and Alice Eve.

Les Miserables and Life of Pi dominate the nominations, with nine nods each including Best Film. Anne Hathaway's heartfely performance in Les Mis has earned her a place in the running for Best Suppporting Actress.

WATCH THE NOMINATIONS BEING ANNOUNCED...

Anna Karenina is also a front-runner, with six nominations. The stunning Alicia Vikander, who we touted as one to watch in our 2013 predictions, has been nominated for the prestigious Rising Star category alongside the likes of Elizabeth Olsen and Andrea Riseborough.

There's also a nod for InStyle's February cover girl, Jessica Chastain, who's up for Best Actress.

The winners will be announced at the EE British Academy Film Awards on 10 February 2013 at London’s Royal Opera House.
