Kylie Minogue v Katy Perry: Who worked it best on Germany's Next Top Model?

It was camp v kitsch as pop princesses Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue strutted their stuff at the finale of Germany’s Next Top Model last night

The event may have been a triumph for 21-year-old Alisar Ailabouni from Austria who was awarded the model crown by host Heidi Klum and signed to IMG, but the two petite pop stars certainly managed to steal their fair share of limelight from the towering new star.

Kylie performed her latest track All the Lovers to an elated audience, and after stepping back into hotpants for the song’s video, and trying out a cone-bra for size for her album promo shots, it was a racy cut-out bodysuit covered with a sheer, flowing dress, that won out as Kylie’s on-stage outfit.

Katy Perry went on to rival the performance in her typically kooky-cool style, showing off her trim frame in a graphic PVC dress. She went all out to sing her latest track, California Gurls, continuing to show her penchant for wigs in a fuschia hairpiece.

But, surprisingly, the I Kissed a Girl singer had ditched heels in favour of strawberry-coloured flats. Kylie, meanwhile, managed to navigate a human pyramid of dancers in some vertiginous over-the-knee boots, looking ethereal atop her podium. What a pro!

Kylie may be able to get model-esque despite her tiny frame but, ever the maverick, it seems that no one can wig it like Katy. We salute them both for their style triumphs!
