Kristen Stewart has never been shy when it comes to expressing her views.
Wondering what the Hollywood star might have been waxing lyrical about this time? Her hair.
Having been propelled to global fame with shoulder-length locks as vampire Edward Cullen's love interest Bella Swan in Twilight, Kristen hit the headlines when she revealed a dramatic crop last year.
Kristen debuted the head-turning textured cut as she arrived to check out Chanel’s latest designs at the French brand’s show at Paris Fashion Week last July.
She also stunned onlookers with her new fiery orange colour – a huge change from the deep brown shade the world had gotten used to seeing her with.
Only now has Kristen revealed why she decided to lop off her layers.
‘My hair was such a crutch. I looked quote unquote 'sexy' no matter what. I could hide behind it,’ she said during an interview with US Marie Claire.
‘As soon as I didn't have all that hair, I had to let my face hang out. I felt more confident than I had in a really long time. It felt really good.’
Kristen has openly talked about suffering from anxiety from her middle teens to the time she was twenty, so we can only imagine it felt as though a huge weight had been, quite literally, lifted off her shoulders.
And with the 25-year-old’s short ‘do came an even sassier attitude.
‘Maybe to most people long hair is prettier. But then what?’ she pondered. ‘Is your main goal in life to be desired? That is boring as f*ck.’
