Selma Blair will play Kris Jenner in the new American Crime Story miniseries
Kris Jenner is set to be immortalised on screen – and not just in her reality TV series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Actress Selma Blair has been cast to play the Kardashian/Jenner matriarch, but long before she became the formidable momager she is today.
No, this isn't a fictitious version of Keeping Up With The Kardashians series as imagined in the early 90s, rather a miniseries exploring the famous trial of OJ Simpson.
For those of you that don't know (i.e. have not got the encyclopaedic knowledge of the Kardashian/Jenner family we have), Kris Jenner was married to OJ Simpson's defence lawyer, Robert Kardashian. She was also close friends with OJ Simpson's wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, whom OJ was accused – and acquitted – of murdering in 1994.
The miniseries, called American Crime Story, is based on the best-selling book The Run of His Life: The People v. OJ Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin and will follow the trial from the perspectives of the lawyers involved in the case – meaning Kris will no doubt be a key character.
So who will play Robert Kardashian we hear you ask? None other than David Schwimmer, that's who. Yep, everyone's favourite Friends star will be playing Kris Jenner's late lawyer husband. And if you're struggling to envisage this, because all you can see is Kris and David, as they are now, married to each other, then you're not alone.
John Travolta has also been cast in the miniseries, which will mark his return to TV acting for the first time in 36 years, to play Robert Shapiro – another key member of the OJ Simpson defense team.
American Crime Story: The People V OJ Simpson will be aired on FX later this year.
