Alber Elbaz, Lanvin
Why: Was that dark blue satin slashed-to-the-thigh Lanvin number she wore to the Met Ball a big old hint? Who knows, but she has been spotted popping into the designer’s showroom in Paris - where she’s set to tie the knot - plus some of those tight fishtail styles in Alber’s latest bridal collection feel right up her street.
Olivier Rousteing, Balmain
Why: She landed in LA last week with a gigantic Balmain shopping bag - which many took as a surefire hint that Mr Rousteing is her chosen designer - and it’s no secret that Kim is a fan of the high-end French label and pals with the man himself. Choosing Balmain would also be an important contrast to the fairytale Vera Wang she wore at her 2011 marriage to Chris Humphries. “I think it will be a momentous fashion statement”said Vera Wang herself last week.
Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy
Why: Tisci recently anointed Kim ‘the new Marilyn Monroe’ and he’s dressed her frequently in the last two years. The pair met through her fiance Kanye West and her little sister Kendall walked in his AW14 show so there are strong sentimental reasons for picking him to make her dress.
Why: Some conspicuous-looking bags from Valentino's Paris store arrived at Kim and Kanye's hotel this week. These could just as easily be tuxes or outfits for her bridesmaids, but with a part of the wedding rumoured to be taking place in Italy, could Kim have chosen a splash of Italian couture to walk down the aisle in? Quite possibly...
Why: Kim has a wardrobe stuffed with Alia (see below) and got a tour of the fashion houses’s Palais Galliera exhibition by the designer himself a few months ago.... was this after a wedding dress fitting?
And the wildcard..... Monique Lhuiller
Why: Have all those Parisian shopping jaunts been an elaborate smoke screen? There’s still every chance Kim will pick a designer closer to home. If she does we’d put money on it being a romantic sculptural number by US bridal favourite Monique Lhuillier.
