Riccardo Tisci thinks Kim Kardashian is a 'Monroe for our age'
In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Givenchy creative director explains how he first met Kim, and how he fell instantly in love with her – in a purely fashion way, obvs.
'I met her as the girlfriend of a good friend,' Tisci said. So, that's Kanye West then, Riccardo – we all know who he is.
'I just wanted a moment with her to understand - and I fell in love. She's the Monroe of our age. People think she's like a doll, but actually she's tough and clever.'
Since their first meeting, Riccardo and Kim have struck up a close friendship. Not only does the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star often wear his designs – Tisci made Kim the floral dress she wore to the Met Ball – but he has been tasked with the ultimate sartorial responsibility: dressing baby North West.
Tisci created a baby-sized version of his Givenchy Bambi sweaters for little Nori, and was declared as North's 'new stylist' by Kim in pictures of the pair she shared on Instagram last year.
If there's one thing baby Nori doesn't need to worry about, it's being well dressed.
