Kim Kardashian robbed in Paris

Kim Kardashian: held at gunpoint

Kim Kardashian’s trip to Paris for fashion week took a shocking turn as two armed robbers broke into Kim’s hotel room and held her at gunpoint, stealing $11 million worth of jewellery.

Two masked men, who were dressed as police officers, entered Kim’s hotel at around 2.30am and are believed to have handcuffed the nightguard in order to get upstairs without being stopped. They then broke into Kim’s room, threatening her with the weapons, and are said to have tied Kim up and locked her in the bathroom.

Among the items stolen were a jewellery box worth $6 million and a ring worth $4 million. A photographer, who had been following Kim since she landed in Paris, is being questioned by the police. He is reported to have gained access to a restaurant where Kim and her family were dining earlier in the week, posing as a policeman.

It's now been revealed that apparently Kim has been advised to hire body doubles to throw off would-be robbers. (How very Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows).

Her legal team are also suing celebrity gossip website MediaTakeout for suggesting that the robbery was staged by Kim and her family. Founder, Fred Mwangaguhunga, is being sued for unspecified damages for defamation, with the lawsuit stating ‘the victim of a horrific and traumatic armed robbery in France, Kim Kardashian returned to the US only to again be victimised, but this time by an online gossip tabloid that published a series of articles in early October 2016 referring to her as a liar and thief. [The articles] claimed, without any factual support whatsoever, that Kardashian faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars’. Mr Mwangaguhunga has refused to publish a retraction or any form of apology, according to the lawsuit.

Now the family have broken their silence — Kourtney and Khloe have Tweeted...

Khloe also spoke about the incident on The Ellen Show, saying that Kim wasn't doing that great...

The star is also said to be undergoing counselling for her traumatic experience.

It's been revealed, in statements to E! and Us Weekly, that KUWTK wasn't filming at the time of the robbery and it's unknown when it will resume.

Kim, who is thankfully safe after the incident, was described as ‘badly shaken but physically unharmed’ by her spokesperson Ina Treciokas, and is said to have flown back to America with sister Kourtney. At around 4.30am, sister Kendall was seen leaving the apartment under police protection.

Kim’s daughter and son, North and Saint West, are not believed to have been in the room at the time of the incident, while Kanye West cut short his Meadows festival concert in New York mid-song after learning of the robbery on-stage. The crowd booed his exit, clearly unaware of the situation, but Kanye stated ‘I'm sorry. I have a family emergency. I have to stop the show.' Meadows festival then Tweeted 'Due to an emergency, Kanye West had to end his performance early. Please get home safely.'

The incident would have been terrifying for Kim, accosted in the middle of the night and held at gunpoint by men dressed as law enforcement officers. This make the fact that jokes and memes are already circulating the incident even more distasteful and shocking – just because Kim is a celebrity, it does not mean that her privacy and safety are less important than anyone else.

Social media expressed little sympathy that someone with millons of dollars worth of jewellery has been robbed of what may relatively be a small amount of that. Again, no matter the price of the goods stolen and the wealth of the individual, this was still a terrifying and life-threatening situation, not to be joked about.

Kim’s friends, such as Chrissy Teigen, and other celebrities, rushed to her defence on Twitter.

Questions have been raised as to how this whole incident came about, considering how famous Kim Kardashian is and the tight security that surrounds her at all times. People are wondering how the robbers broke into a bolted, locked and heavily guarded doors of a luxury hotel (and back out again), as well as why Kim and her friend were left alone in the flat - especially when Kim has commented that she hasn’t walked down the street without security since she was 7 years old. People are also wondering why there is no CCTV footage of the incident around the room or the hotel lobby, and why for a hotel with such famous guests there was just a night porter on duty. There is no reason to believe that anyone would be let in that easily, even if they were dressed as policemen. Finally, people are questioning why Kim could leave France so quickly.

This isn’t the first incident Kim has had to deal with during this trip to Paris. Earlier in the week, she was grabbed by Vitalii Sediuk, a man who consistently assaults celebrities, including Gigi Hadid, who elbowed him in the face as he lifted her off the ground. Kim is said to be making a legal complaint against Vitalii.

Our thoughts are with Kim at this time, and we're glad she's unharmed.
