Kim Kardashian Channels Elizabeth Taylor As Kanye West Defends *That* Shocking Statement

These two never fail to entertain us – what are they up to now?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West never fail to entertain us – when they're not taking countless bathroom selfies, they're making incredible statements about their fame to the world's press – and today, they've managed to do both.

Kim posted a picture to Instagram last night showing off her HUGE diamond engagement ring from Kanye West as she attempted to mimic a portrait of Elizabeth Taylor. Wearing a towel around her hair with full lashes, groomed eyebrows and a perfect manicure, Kim made every effort to copy the late actress' super-chic look. She posted the picture with the caption 'My idol'.

Her fiance Kanye West made headlines yesterday for allegedly comparing himself to another huge name – Nelson Mandela. The quotes, which were said to have come from an interview with the rapper, were picked up by several news sites who reported them as fact. But it turns out it was all a hoax.

Kanye said: last night: 'Despite recent media reports, I've never said anything to dishonor or trivialize the life or transition of one of the most inspiring leaders.'

Earlier this year, he compared North West's mum to Marilyn Monroe, saying: 'They are empowering us over Vanity Fair that want to say that Kate Upton is Marilyn Monroe. Kate Upton ain't Marilyn Monroe, Kim is Marilyn Monroe. You know that. She was controversial; she's controversial.

'This is the reality. I'm living inside of a dream world.'

Oh dear.
