Kendall Jenner made a bold move banning her sister Kim Kardashian from Fashion Week, but she reveals that she had good reason to...

Kendall Jenner might have a modelling career that just won't quit right now, having landed some major campaigns and walked the hottest catwalks this season. While some might argue that her famous family have inevitably helped her climb her way up the fashion ladder, she's quick to set the record straight claiming that, if anything, its held her back...

Speaking to LOVE Magazine, Kendall said that she wanted more from her career. 'I was like 'You know what? I want to be high fashion. I want to be taken seriously. I want people to see that I can really do this. So I'm going to work for it' and I worked. People think that it just came to me. But it didn't. What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn't take me seriously as a model.'

So, when she was finally given a shot at her dream of becoming a high-end model, it's no wonder Kendall did everything she could to stop her jobs from turning into a media circus. So much so that she even banned her famous half-sister Kim Kardashian from all of her shows.

'Kim was invited to a lot of the shows that I was in. She called me before and was like, 'Hey, I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?' and I was like, 'No'. I'd love my sister to come, I'd love my whole family to come. But I didn't want it to look like a family affair. I wanted this to be me. Next season? Sure, but for my first season, no. I just wanted it to be something that I own'. Well played, Kendall...

Now, if you're expecting a sibling-rift to cause some serious tension in the next Keeping Up With The Kardashians series, you can think again. It seems that Kim was totally understanding of her younger sister's ban, saying that her Kendall 'went on casting after casting trying to prove herself. Designers wanted to fight against having a "celebrity" walk in their show, but she broke that label and proved she takes this seriously and modelling is her career. Marc Jacobs gave her a real shot and treated her like any other model. He believed in her and opened the door for her. Her hard work paid off, and that makes me so proud.'

Maybe their sisterly love isn't all for the camera's after all. Kim and Kendall, we salute you...
