Keira Knightley gave an expert lesson in the art of the LBD, at the London premiere of her new movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit last night.
Wearing a midi shift dress by Proenza Schouler, the 28-year-old actress managed to look sophisticated, elegant and fashion-forward all at once. It's a hard feat to pull off.
The interest here was all in the detail: a delicately buttoned up back, the front split, a rolled neck and subtle black-on-black stripes made this an LBD to remember.
The cute bows on her black pumps, a subtle pair of star-shaped silver studs and a serious slick of coral lippy made the look red-carpet worthy.
Keira was joined at the Leicester Square premiere by her Jack Ryan co-star, Chris Pine, and director Kenneth Branagh.
Speaking to the Telegraph about working with the legendary actor/director, Keira said the experience was 'hysterical.'
'It was hysterical. The main reason I did this film was for Ken Branagh - I've been a huge fan of his since I was a kid and the opportunity to work with him, not only as an actor but as a director, was something I couldn't say no to,' the actress said.
'So it was totally mad, because he's playing the nastiest villain you can imagine, who does some horrific things to me. So he'd be completely horrendous, and screaming in my ear and all the rest of it, and then suddenly go, 'Okay ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much. And that's a cut and that was lovely', and be this sweet man. So it was quite schizophrenic.'
Later on in the evening, Keira slipped into a more daring outfit for the after party. Keeping it all black once again, this time the actress chose to wear a woven top over a crop top and sjirt combo, with a beautiful oversized coat to keep the chill out.
Pleased to have you back, Keira.
