Movie starlet Keira Knightley and Mad Men’s Golden Globe-nominated Elisabeth Moss have been enjoying rave reviews of their performances in Lillian Hellman’s 1934 play, The Children’s Hour, which opened at The Comedy Theatre on Monday of this week.
This is no mean feat, considering the actresses, who play two teachers accused of being in a lesbian relationship by a group of trouble-making students at an all-girls’ boarding school, are stepping into the shoes of Hollywood legends Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine, who played the parts in the 1961 film by William Wyler.
Knightley and Moss looked suitably proud of themselves as they stepped out of the theatre last night, smiling. While Keira complemented her gleaming complexion with an earth-toned outfit comprising a Burberry military jacket, corduroy skirt and brown satchel bag, Elisabeth kept things classic with a navy pea coat and chain-strap handbag. The duo signed autographs to fans before heading off into the night.
