Kate Winslet hasn't been on the red carpet for quite some time – seven months to be exact. But last night the actress certainly made up for her absence, as she stepped out for the London premiere of her new movie, A Little Chaos.
Opting for a bright blue bodycon number with plunging neckline by Stella McCartney, Kate looked pleased to be back in the limelight as she posed up a storm for photographers and fans alongside her co-stars Helen McCrory and Alan Rickman.
We're used to seeing Ms Winslet stick to a red carpet uniform of LBD or LRD (little red dress in case you were wondering), so this electric blue number was something of a departure for the star. But it paid off. Setting off her swept black blonde hair, the blue frock with giant ribbon detail was the perfect choice for the 39-year-old actress.
But Kate's glamourous look last night was a fair few miles away from that of her character in her new movie. Directed by Alan Rickman (who also stars in the film), Kate plays a female landscape gardener who is assigned to construct the grand gardens at Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV. While there might be a few ballgowns, it's more about gardening gloves and bonnets.
With London as the first stop on the promo trail for the film, we can no doubt look forward to a string of red carpet appearance from Ms Winslet. Watch this space...
