A collection of artwork exclusively featuring fashion icon Kate Moss is to be put to auction at Christies.
Curated by German art collector Gert Elfering, the 50-piece collection that covers a wide range of contemporary artists from Sam Taylor-Wood to Mario Testino and Mary McCartney, will be priced from £4,000; with some pieces expected to fetch up to £50,000.
Speaking of Kate and why she is so topical in the art world Gert said: “Kate is the ultimate modern muse and we will be seeing her images in major museums and private collections for years to come. She has altered perceptions for women across the globe, encouraging them towards greater individuality and expressive freedom.
“There is so much you can learn from Kate - how you should always remain true to yourself, develop your own style, and emphasise your individuality.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Some of the pieces on offer include the iconic Nick Knight shot where Kate is styled as David Bowie's alter ego Aladdin Sane in 2003, as well as earlier work that includes the stunning Albert Watson photo of Mossy in a torn veil from 1993.
Since she was discovered as a teenager in the late 1980s, Croydon-born Kate has amassed an impressive career and worked alongside some of the greatest names in both the fashion and art world.
