While a lucky few may have caught a glimpse of Kate Middleton as she made a casual trip to Waitrose recently, the Duchess has caused a media frenzy with a surprise official public engagement - her first since the birth of her son, Prince George.
Kate Middleton turned up with husband Prince William to the opening of a marathon on Anglesey island, where they are currently residing with Prince George for their last few weeks before moving back down to London.
Although rumours suggested Kate may be attending the event, at which Prince William fired the starting gun for the 'ultra marathon' (a 135 mile round-the-island excursion), there was no official confirmation on whether the new mum would make an appearance. However, reports have said that Kate was keen to thank the people of Anglesey for their hospitality during their time at their North Wales home - and, leaving Prince George at home, she stepped out looking fresher than ever despite having given birth only just over a month ago.
The Duchess worked post-maternity chic in a preppy forest green blazer from Ralph Lauren, teamed with a sweet black and white print blouse from Zara and some black skinny jeans from Paige. It goes without saying that her trademark long, brunette locks were looking their usual bouncy self in a voluminous Chelsea blow-dry.
And it looked like Kate Middleton was happy to have a quick break from motherhood, as she was seen laughing and chatting with locals alongside Prince William.
Her next official appearance is scheduled to be in honour of the Tusk Trust, a conservation charity the couple have supported for years. With an expected appearance from both the Duke and Duchess at the Tusk Conservation Awards ceremony on the 12 September, it will be the perfect excuse for Kate to dress up and show off her elegant evening style once more. We can't wait! SM
