The details of Kate Middleton's birth plan have been confirmed, with the Duchess of Cambridge due to give birth naturally in the same wing as Princess Diana at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, and the announcement of the news will be equally in keeping with tradition.
While advances in technology have meant that since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding, the public have been able to stay up to date with announcements about their engagements via social media, the birth of the Royal baby will be presented in age old tradition.
In the same way as Prince William's birth 31 years ago, once the Royal family have been informed of the Royal baby's arrival, it will be revealed to the public via an official notice placed on an easel in the forecourt of the Queen's London home, Buckingham Palace.
Details of the baby's weight, gender and the exact time of the birth will then follow.
No doubt there'll be a frenzy of Royal fans gathered at the gates of Buckingham Palace for a first glimpse of the news.
