After a week of wardrobe triumphs in Canada, Kate Middleton boarded a plane headed for LA in a patriotic poppy red dress coat by Catherine Walker accessorised with the Queen’s maple leaf brooch previously worn on Canada Day. Only hours later, and Kate was welcomed to the United States with a red, white and blue bouquet for which she had changed into a luscious lilac silk dress by Serbian-born designer Roksanda Ilincic.
For her fifth and final outfit of the day, Kate proved unstoppably stylish choosing a vibrant green dress by Diane von Furstenberg teamed with a DVF leopard print clutch for drinks and canapés at the Consul General’s residence, where the couple were staying for the duration of their visit.
Back in a more familiar setting, Saturday was spent at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. Sporting a hand-painted floral dress by Jenny Packham, Kate watched Prince William win the polo match, before proudly presenting the team with their prizes.
With not a moment to waste, it was a quick change for Will and Kate who were guests of honour and the Bafta Brits to Watch event at the Belasco Theatre. Kate wowed the star-studded crowd in a flowing Alexander McQueen gown belted at the waist with sparkles and teamed with matching platform heels while Prince William was dapper as ever in a tailored tux.
Having been the talk of Tinseltown over night, with J-Lo, Jennifer Garner, Nicole Kidman and Blake Lively all dying to meet them, the Royal couple spent Sunday meeting the American people at the Sony Studios and at a painting workshop. Never afraid to return to the high street, Kate chose a Whistles dress to conclude her tour wardrobe.
And what a travel wardrobe it's been!
