Prince William and Kate Middleton

William and Kate visit the Tower of London

Kate Middleton and Prince William returned to London from Belgium today, to pay a visit to an art installation at the Tower of London in commemoration of World War One.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a cobalt LK Bennett dress with long sleeves and lapels, which we first saw her wear on Valentine's Day this year on a visit to a high school. The 32-year-old teamed her dress with a pair of navy suede courts and matching clutch.

The Cambridges were joined by Prince Harry at the Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red installation, created by Paul Cummins, where they each planted their own ceramic poppy to represent a life lost during the war. A symbol of remembrance, the poppy has long been associated with WW1, as well as subsequent conflicts.

The installation is available to view from today, 5 August, and will be completed with the last of the 888,246 poppies – one for a each allied victim of the Great War – on 11 November 2014.
