According to the Italian fashion designer, Kate could afford to be a little more risque with her fashion choices: "A princess should be sexy. She is young, she is beautiful."
And he'd be happy to take on the challenge of giving the Duchess of Cambridge a style overhaul: "I would like to create something special for her, but nothing too bold. I would like to prove to the world that Roberto Cavalli can dress a princess. Maybe I would use a print, keeping it young, sophisticated and sexy. Just because you are a queen or princess it doesn't mean you can't be sexy."
Roberto has recently been responsible for upping the ante on Olivia Palermo's red carpet outfits - she rocked his sequin-heavy minis and thigh-high slit animal print dresses at Cannes - so could Kate be his next clothes-horse?
A Cavalli custom design could be the perfect choice for Kate's final appearance before the birth of the Royal baby, when she'll christen the Princess Ship in Southampton on June 13. Seeing as he says a print would be key, perhaps he could adapt one of his fluro Spring Summer '13 digi-prints into the A-line silhouette Kate's been coveting during her pregnancy. Let's hope a hook-up is in progress.
