Kate Middleton's St Andrew's crush, Andrew Alexander, makes Downton Abbey debut
Kate Middleton has more reason than ever to tune into Downton Abbey as her childhood crush, Andrew Alexander, joins the popular ITV cast.
The 31-year-old has taken on the role of Sir John Bullock on the Sunday night drama, starring alongside Dame Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville.
The Duchess of Cambridge is thought to have had quite the schoolgirl crush on her former St Andrew’s classmate, and even took her turn acting opposite Andrew in a school production of Murder in the Red Barn in 1995.
A source told The Sun, “They would land all the lead roles, but Kate was very shy around Andrew because she had a huge crush on him for years.”
Tweeting about his Downton debut, Andrew, who has also starred in the West End production of The 39 Steps, wrote, ‘Delighted to be making my debut in @DowntonAbbey tonight. Had a wonderful time filming with such a friendly + talented cast & crew. #SirJohn.’
It looks like K-Middy has a definite ‘type’ too, as Andrew’s dashing looks aren’t too dissimilar to Prince William.
As if we didn’t have enough reason to watch Downton already…
Downton Abbey series four begins this Sunday 22 September 2013, 9pm on ITV.
