He may only be just ten days old, but Prince George of Cambridge has already received a very special nickname, courtesy of grandfather Prince Charles.
Speaking to the public at the Whitstable Oyster Festival, proud grandfather Prince Charles told crowds he thought the new tot would be referred to as “Georgie in no time”.
New parents Kate Middleton and Prince William took just two days to reveal the third heir to the throne's very traditional name, and of course Prince George will eventually go on to be the seventh King named George, after being titled as the second Prince of Cambridge with the name too.
The Duke, Duchess and Prince of Cambridge are currently staying with Kate Middleton’s parents at their manor house in Bucklebury. The new Royal family are expected to return to London later this month, with baby George’s christening likely to take place shortly after.
