The fashion industry is finally hailing the Duchess of Cambridge as a Couture Queen...
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been hailed as a fashion icon by one of the industry's finest, Donatella Versace. In a new interview with The Sunday Times, the designer discusses the rise of the royals' influence on fashion, and how the 'Kate Middleton effect' has even reached the couture world.
Talking about Kate Middleton and Prince William's recent designer style choices, and the effect they've had on fashion, she said: 'I call it the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge effect.'
Donatella also hailed Kate Middleton's ability to 'wear anything'. Praising her post-baby figure, she said: 'She can wear anything because she has a fantastic body.' She added that she'd also love to see Kate wear a Grecian draped dress from her SS14 collection.
Now, that we'd love to see, too.
And it's not just Kate Middleton the Italian designer's been praising, either. It seems Donatella's also got a soft spot for the Queen. Bless.
She added: 'I could put her in the colours in this collection, the lilac, pale pinks and purples, but my dream was to put her in black.'
The Queen and K-Middy in Versace? Make it happen, Donatella...
