Kate Middleton is set to undertake her first solo trip abroad, in her public capacity as a member of the royal family.
The Duchess of Cambridge will visit Malta in September, to mark 50 years since the country's independence from the UK.
Clarence House revealed the news on Twitter, stating: 'The Duchess of Cambridge will visit Malta on 20th and 21st September, 2014 on behalf of The Queen. The Duchess of Cambridge’s visit will mark the 50th anniversary of Malta’s independence.'
Although Kate has travelled around the globe with Prince William (and her one-year-old son Prince George), most recently for their three-week tour to Australia and New Zealand, this will be the first time the Duchess will have carried out her royal duties alone.
Still, we're sure she'll be in the company of some pretty amazing frocks. And who can be lonely when you've got couture around, right?
