Kate Middleton gears up for final solo engagement before Royal birth

Kate Middleton and her baby bump are set to make their final outing to the christening of the Princess Royal ship in Southampton…

Today the Duchess of Cambridge will play godmother as she takes on the task of christening the new Princess Cruises 3,600-passenger ship, the Royal Princess, in Southamption.

Pregnant Kate Middleton will officially name the vessel by breaking a bottle over the hull. She'll then head on board for a brief cruise and visit the ship's bridge. The Duchess is sure to be impressed by the liner, which boasts the largest outdoor cinema and  pastry shop at sea, as well as two outdoor pools and balconies on all outside staterooms.

Princess Cruises’ president Alan Buckelew said: "It is a great honour for Princess Cruises that Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge has accepted our invitation to become the Godmother to Royal Princess."

After the festivities Kate is expected to attend a gala where she'll play hostess to her chosen guests.

It's also thought that Kate Middleton will join the rest of the Royal family for the Trooping the Colour ceremony in honour of the Queen's birthday on 15 June.

So, we still have a few fabulous Kate maternity outfits remaining to be seen before the birth of the Royal baby next month – we wonder who she'll wear…
