Speaking candidly to Royal correspondent Max Foster at CNN Prince William and Kate Middleton’s cousin Peter Phillips has noted that the Royal family are ‘ecstatic’ about the forthcoming arrival of the new Prince or Princess of Cambridge.
“First and foremost, everyone is ecstatic for [them] both. They will make great parents and it's great to be able to welcome another child into the family,” Peter commented.
However it’s not just Kate and Wills the royal is thinking of, as he added, “…if not from a selfish perspective for my two girls to be able to grow up with a playmate.”
Peter, who has two children Savannah and Isla with wife Autumn Kelly, is Princess’ Anne’s son and as we now know his sister Zara Phillips has also just announced she is expecting her first child with husband Mike Tindall, which is due next spring.
As Kate Middleton and Prince William expect the third heir to the throne any day now, we know the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will do everything to protect their child from the intense media spotlight, with Peter noting, “He or she will be under a great deal of scrutiny. That being said, both of the baby's parents are used to that and I think there is the structure and infrastructure around them all to be able to protect them to a certain extent.
“Sure, the baby's going to be in the limelight, just like William was from a very early age.”
However with such a grounded upbringing we’re sure both Prince William and Kate Middleton will make model parents and role models themselves.
