Kate Middleton and Prince William plan private christening for Prince George
Kate Middleton and Prince William have taken the difficult decision to leave some royal family members off the guest list for Prince George’s christening.
According to the Daily Mail, William’s aunts, Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex are missing invites, as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge try to keep the ceremony an ‘intimate, family affair’ on 23 October.
The newspaper also reports that George’s great-uncles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, are two more of the familiar names missing from the royal roll call.
Kate and Wills have been clear on their wishes for a quite and intimate ceremony since choosing the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace over the more traditional options.
The Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry are all expected to attend baby George’s christening, alongside Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton, while the godparents have yet to be confirmed.
