Unlike his parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Prince William and Kate Middleton took only a day to announce the new name of the third heir to the throne, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.
After a media frenzy ensued when the Royal couple left the private Lindo Wing, where Kate gave birth to Prince George on Monday 22 July 2013 at 4.24pm, Wills and Kate headed back to Kensington Palace for the night to meet with family members and of course the Queen. They then travelled to Kate’s hometown of Bucklebury where it is reported they will stay with Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, while they becoming accustomed to parenthood.
The name however has been reported as something that they “liked… no more no less”, with Kensington Palace announcing to the world, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.”
