Kate Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry at Trooping the Colour

While the day was to honour the Queen's official birthday (which actually happened on 21 April), all eyes were on Kate Middleton as she made her last public appearance before giving birth to the Royal baby.

The Duchess of Cambridge stuck to her three maternity style rules that she's been following during her pregnancy: a flattering coat dress, British fashion labels and recycling her favourite accessories.

KATE MIDDLETON'S MATERNITY STAPLE: THE COAT DRESS

Kate Middleton stepped out wearing her favourite British fashion designer, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who created this custom-designed coat dress in pale pink with a peter pan collar, studded with large pearl buttons, that showed off her ever-growing baby bump perfectly.

WEDDING HAIRSTYLES

Carrying a silver Alexander McQueen clutch bag, with the iconic skull detailing removed, Kate Middleton went for outfit-matching accessories, choosing drop pearl earrings by Annoushka and a matching pastel pink lace hat by Jane Corbett - that we recognised from a Diamond Jubilee garden party in May of last year.

Kate, who is currently eight months pregnant and said to be expecting in July, looked oh-so-happy at the military spectacle, where she watched the Trooping the Colour parade and beamed down at crowds from the balcony during the RAF fly-past - the very same balcony where we watched her and Prince William share their first married kiss.

With not long to go until the Royal arrival, we can't help but wonder if the pastel pink theme is a subtle hint at the newborn's gender…
