When you’ve got a busy weekend ahead there’s nothing like turning to your tried and tested wardrobe favourites to help get you through it, and it would seem Kate Middleton would agree. With her first attendance at the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony, a wedding and a birthday party to go to, Princess Catherine reworked pieces we’ve certainly seen before.
Kate started her weekend on the balcony where her and Prince William shared their first kiss as a married couple with the nation for the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony. Wearing a white tailored dress coat with her long locks flowing, Kate accessorised with a dainty black hat and shared a joke with her husband and the younger members of the balcony party.
Later on, Kate and her sister Pippa Middleton had headed to Berkshire for the wedding of their mutual friend jockey Sam Waley-Cohen and Annabel Ballin. With the sun out, the Duchess of Cambridge went for a monochrome printed dress that we recognised from Kate’s Boujis (nightclub) days. Worn with the very same hat from the morning’s duties and those classic black LK Bennett courts, it was perfect wedding attire.
Another day, another function and Kate was in Windsor for the Duke of Edinburgh’s 90th birthday celebrations. Battling with the showers, Kate arrived with Wills at Windsor Castles’s St George’s Chapel wearing the cornflower blue embroidered coat she’d worn to the wedding of Nicolas van Cutsem to Alice Hadden-Paton in 2009. With the hint of a blue pleated dress beneath the coat, we wouldn’t be surprised if she was wearing the Zara number she wore the day after her own wedding beneath it.
There's nothing like a bit of wardrobe recycling!
