When you're up for an Oscar, only the very best will do
Julianne Moore certainly wasn't cutting any corners when it came to her Oscars dress for last night's ceremony.
Making sure she looked like no-one else on the red carpet (unlike Jennifer Lopez, unfortunately), Julianne employed the help of Karl Lagerfeld to create a one-off custom-made Chanel gown for the occasion.
And it appears it was all hands on deck to get the actress's incredible monochrome strapless number finished.
Featuring a whopping 80,000 sequins, a hidden bustier and silk crepe lining, it took 27 workers 987 hours to complete the gown. Which isn't surprising given that each of those resin sequins was hand painted…
But it was definitely worth all the effort: not only did Julianne look utterly flawless in her bespoke dress, but last night also saw the actress claim her very first Best Actress Oscar for her role in Still Alice.
If ever there was a time for custom Chanel, it was this.
