Jessica Brown Findlay's new TV show might be a period drama, but that's where all comparisons with Downton end.

In upcoming BBC series Jamaica Inn – adapted from the novel by Daphne Du Maurier – Brown Findlay will star as feisty heroine Mary Yellan living on a bleak 1820s Cornish coast.  The drama – expected to air at Easter – will also star Matthew McNulty (The Paradise) and Ben Daniels (House of Cards).

This year is set to be a very busy one for Ms Brown Findlay. In September she'll appear in the hotly tipped big screen adaptation of the play Posh with Sam Claflin and Douglas Booth (lucky girl), followed by Frankenstein with James McAvoy and TV drama Lullaby with Amy Adams. Welcome back Jessica!
