Jessica Alba gives us a masterclass in mixing metals at the awards gala
Jessica Alba is known for her relaxed, down-to-earth attitude and that's one of the main reasons we love her, but we certainly didn't expect to see her doing this...
The actress, author, wonder mum and all round charity do-gooder stepped out for the 2014 New York Women in Film and Television 'Designing Women' Awards Gala working a luxe top-to-toe metallic ensemble. The copper tone Vivienne Westwood bandeau frock looked even cooler paired with her gold Giuseppe Zanotti courts and Kotur; proof that mixing your metals can really pay off in the style stakes.
While we can't stop thinking about her amazing high-shine look, it was the photos of Jess on her way to the event that really stopped us in her tracks. Unlike most A-Listers, Jessica made her way from her hotel to the awards ceremony with a minimal entourage rocking a casual ensemble. She carried her gorgeous cocktail frock herself without a garment bag to hide it until her red-carpet appearance, breaking one major event-dressing rule in the process.
This unexpected move just goes to show how easy-going Jessica is about her style and, unlike so many others, is happy to step out without being 100% ready for the night ahead. For anyone who's ever done their make-up on the train or swapped into their heels after they've arrived at the party; she's definitely a girl after our own hearts.
