A Guide To J.Lo's Types: From The Bad Boy To The Baby Daddy

A Guide To J.Lo's Types: From The Bad Boy To The Baby Daddy

Jenny from the block used to have a little now she’s got a lot (of baggage)...

Her love may not cost her thing, but it doesn’t stop some fellas trying, it would seem. J. Lo delivered her own shock present to the world this holiday season, by announcing via Instagram (how modern!) that she was offish with Drake. But it got us thinking: does J. Lo even have a type? How many boyfirends has Jennifer Lopez had? How many times has Jennifer been married? Here’s a run definitive run down of her former flames, husbands and squeezes…

The Heavily Groomed Wheeler Dealer Kinda Guy: Drake (2016-Present)

Someone clearly dialled Santa’s Hotline Bling and asked for a shiny new boyfriend in the shape of Drake. We can expect sweet music (lol) from the couple this year too. Side note: snuggle goals.

The Totally Hot Toy Boy: Casper Smart (2011-2016)

It’s a tale as old as time, pop diva goes on tour and falls for her back-up dancer - we are looking at you, Mariah Carey and Mel B (NICHE!). With an 18-year age gap the couple were regulars on the red carpet for a solid five years. Apparently the two remain friends since their split last year. Now, that is consciously uncoupling at its finest.

The Baby Daddy : Marc Anthony (2004-2011)

J.Lo initially dabbled in Mark Anthony’s pool back in the ‘90s and rekindled the romance in 2004. They married the same year,  just days after his divorce to Dayanara Torres was finalised, going on to have twins, Max and Emme. Cute.

The One Your Mum Will Love: Ben Affleck (2002-2004)

‘Bennifer’ became an early noughties sensation after the pair started dating on the set of Gigli. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be and the wedding was called off just hours before it was planned to begin due to ‘excessive media attention.’ We are still mourning the loss of our favourite ever celebrity couple.

The Back-Up Blip: Cris Judd (2001-2002)

Husband number two, reveal yourself! Jennifer married back-up dancer Cris Judd in 2001 but their marriage ended a year later. HOLD THE LINE THOUGH: that makes it two back-up dancer boyfriends, so we just need one more and it’s a trend!

The Bit Of Rough: P-Diddy/Puff Daddy/Sean Combs (delete as appropriate): (1999-2000)

The pair got loud (keen Jennifer fans will get the reference) whilst working on J.Lo’s first album, On The 6 and gave us one of the greatest red carpet moments of all time at the Grammy’s with THAT Versace gown. Sadly, the relationship never recovered from Diddy’s arrest in December 1999, in relation to a shooting in a Manhattan nightclub, and the couple split soon after.

The Excessive Hair Gel User: Ojani Noa (1997-1998)

Jennifer met her first husband, Ojani, while he was waiting tables at a Miami restaurant. They married the same year - who doesn’t love a tall, dark and handsome waiter with a zesty edge - but divorced a year later. This definitely isn’t a case of consciously uncoupling, as J.Lo filed not one but TWO restraining orders against him after the breakdown of their marriage due to him repeatedly trying to use home footage of the pair for a documentary film.

The Muscle Machine: Wesley Snipes (1995-1997)

FUN FACT: Jennifer’s first ever sex scene was in 1995’s Money Train with her then boyfriend, Wesley Snipes. Great name. Great muscles.

The Stable Safe Bet Kinda Guy: David Cruz (1984-1994)

The pair started dating when Jennifer was just 15 and fresh from the block. After they moved from New York to Los Angeles she landed her first job as a backing dancer in the show, In Living Colour. David officially holds the record for the longest time spent with Jennifer. You go boy and we will call the Guinness World Record Book on your behalf.

So, in conclusion Jennifer likes: back-up dancers, a double dose of muscles and getting married. In love life terms she is the gift that keeps on giving.
