Jennifer Lawrence may have had some amazing looks in her time, but none of them have been quite as poignant as her most recent attire, which she wore to a glamorous awards ceremony this week.
On Monday evening, just after the very sad news broke that Oscar de la Renta had passed away at the age of 82, the 24-year-old Hunger Games actress and our major style crush stepped out wearing one of the designers very last creations. And boy, would Oscar have been proud...
Jen chose to don a stunning dress from Oscar de la Renta's spring/summer 2015 to the star-studded bash, at which everyone was in shock at the death of fashion's most prolific man who, by self confession, just wanted to make 'beautiful clothes'.
The cream dress featured an intricate lace overlay which fell over a full-skirt and ran down Jen's arms stopping elegantly on her wrists. Ever sartorially-savvy, Jen amped up her angelic frock with a black leather and metal ring belt, sexy tie-front heels and a metal box clutch. Stunning.
While it's not clear whether or not Jen's dress was a direct tribute to the late designer, one thing's for certain; it was a perfectly timed and very beautiful move on her part. Now that the news has gone global, we can only imagine how honoured Jennifer will be, knowing that she was one of the last women to don one of Oscar's remarkable designs under his own direction.
Thanks for the wonderful fashion-moment, J-Law.
