Jennifer Lawrence On Wanting To Be Part Of Dior History

The Oscar-winning actress couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with Raf Simons

Jennifer Lawrence is as famous for her modesty as she is for her high-profile film roles. So it's unsurprising that the 23-year old actress wasn't initally taken with the idea of pursuing modelling alongside her acting career.

In an interview with French magazine, Madame Figaro, Jennifer spoke of her hesitation at getting involved with fashion. 'At first I kept telling everyone, "I'm an actress, not a model, I will not do it."' The Hunger games actress said.

'And then I came to Paris, I attended the first [Dior] show by Raf Simons and I was so blown away by his work and his talent that I thought I'd be stupid not to be part of history with this designer.'

Jennifer Lawrence poses in a Dior campaign

We're glad J-Law changed her mind, becuase her recent campaign with the French fashion house is one of our favourites this season. We love her grown-up, androgynous look in the artful black and white shots, and can't help but wonder whether the slicked back hair she wore for the shoot gave her the idea to get her bob cut into a crop.

If there's one thing we're learning about Ms Lawrence, it's that she's not afraid to take a sartorial risk every now and then. And for that, we applaud her.
