Jennifer Lawrence may have been laying low over the past few weeks but it looks like there's finally some good news for our favourite Hollywood funny-girl.
The 24-year-old X-Men starlet is set to swap the movie set for the catwalk as it's been revealed that she's bagged herself the coveted role of co-host at next year's Met Gala (or the Metropolitan Museum if Art's Costume Institute Gala, if you prefer). Nice work, J-Law.
Dubbed the Oscars of the fashion world, the Met Gala focus' each year on a period in fashion's history or a major, noteworthy trend and honours it with an exhibition and a glittering ceremony ,at which all of the fash pack, the A-list and industry insiders are invited to dress up in attire that coordinates with the theme.
Needless to say, some years see the idea work better than others. At the last ceremony back in May, the theme was couture and many celebs used this opportunity to don beautiful ball gowns and lashings of diamonds, However, last year saw the Institute play homage to the punk era; enter a host of famous faces rocking black lipstick, studs aplenty and torn frocks and you get the idea...
Jennifer's 2015 awards will celebrate the opening of it's Spring 2015 exhibit, entitled 'Chinese Whispers: Tales of the East in Art, Film, and Fashion.' Kimono's, wrap dresses, printed silks... We can only imagine how this one is going to go.
We might have to wait a few months to see her take up the role, but we already can't wait to see what the evening's main gal will dare to wear. Whatever you do Jen, just don't opt for something that resembles a bad a geisha costume...
