Jennifer Lawrence And Amy Schumer Are Co-Writing The Comedy Of The Year

Our two favourite funny ladies are teaming up to write the most hilarious comedy of the year, and we can’t wait. Here are all the details we know so far…

Jennifer Lawrence + Amy Schumer = pure comedic genius, right? Looks like we won’t have to wait too long to find out, as J-Law accidentally let slip that she and Amy are writing a comedy screenplay together, due out at some point in the next couple of years.

In true Jennifer Lawrence fashion, Miss Katniss revealed the movie plans to an interviewer without checking with her co-writer first. Texting her new BFF, Jennifer said “I wrote, ‘I just spilled the beans to The New York Times. Is that O.K.?’ And Amy wrote back, ‘That you’re gay? Totally! It’s exciting!’” Speaking about her upcoming projects after the final Hunger Games film, due out in November, Jennifer and Amy already have 100 pages of the script done, writing back and forth as Amy is based in Chicago.

That’s a lot of pages considering the pair have only known each other for a couple of months. Just like a blossoming professional romance, J-Law emailed Amy after seeing the hilarious Trainwreck, saying “I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you.” E-mailing turned to texting, which then led to that much papped jet-ski holiday. Now that explains a lot…

Not only are the duo writing the script, they are also planning to star in the film as sisters, describing their relationship as “made creatively for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life”. Talk about a match made in hilarity heaven, guys. Who needs Chris Martin when you’ve got Amy?!

There’s no word yet on when the film will be released – or when these ladies will have an opening in their busy schedules to film it – but we’re hoping in the next two years. In the mean time, only three more months until The Hunger Games…
