Speaking frankly about his upbringing the 99 Problems singer said: “My pop left when I was young, so he didn’t teach me to be a man nor how to raise a child or how to treat a woman,”
”Of course my karma, the two things I need, I don’t have. And I have a daughter. It’s the paranoia of not being a great dad.”
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Corey Carter, was raised by his mother Gloria in Brooklyn, New York, along with his three siblings.
Aside from being a multi-million selling artist the entrepreneur is still apparently ‘paranoid’ about being a bad father. However, he needn’t worry as in contrast to his father’s distant efforts Jay-Z says that he and wife Bey can’t stop cooing over their 18-month-old toddler, adding: “[She’s] something that we both created… We still marvel at her.”
