But if you're excited at the prospect of Will Smith and Jay Z going head-to-head in a rap battle, you're going to be disappointed. Instead the trio have come together to create – wait for it – a comedy series for HBO. Move over Girls, the boys are back in town.
If that wasn't unlikely enough, the half-hour fictional comedy, called Higher, is to be penned by Irvine Welsh – he of Trainspotting fame.
The show will be centred around the world of electronic dance music, something DJ Calvin Harris surely knows a lot about.
Confirming the news, an official statement said: The pitch for the new series, set in a fictional world of electronic music was developed with the help of Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris. The show has been bought by HBO and is currently in development with the pilot being penned by critically acclaimed Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh.
Jay Z and Will Smith won't, sadly, be appearing on screen – the two are acting as executive producers on the project, alongside Will's wife Jada Pinkett.
In fact, there are no details yet who is slated to star in the sitcom, but we're hoping Beyoncé might just make a cameo appearance...
