Whilst he’s not exactly prolific on Twitter – especially since the brouhaha that was the Fifty Shades of Grey promotional blizzard has died down - it seems any interaction Jamie Dornan (@JamieDornan) has on social media can be an intense experience.
Jamie told US blogger Daniel Montgomery, “ I’ve been actively been trying to avoid social media and stuff. The fame doesn't feel that palpable until you're online. It suddenly just feels.... like it's real, that there are all these people who are interested in what you're doing" (um, that’ll be us, then.)
It seems the worldwide stardom that came with taking on the Christian Grey mantle hasn’t yet affected Jamie’s regular day-to-day life. He explained, “ It doesn't seem to have a huge effect. I mean, we live a pretty quiet life. My wife [Amelia Warner] and I and our baby...we're not massively aware of it, we just go about our day. We're not chased down the street or anything. There's obviously a bit more interest and you notice people whisper here and there [that’ll be us, then etc etc.] But it's not out of control at this stage, I'm pleased to say."
He claims he’s “far less aware” of his celebrity status “ than if I were actively on Twitter. I step back from all of that, because it’s unhealthy. Another thing that's been good is that I've been consistently working." He continued, "When you're working, you're so in that. You're going to work, and you're coming home and being with family, then you're going back to work...you're in this kind of bubble.”
Must be a nice one to be in, eh?
