Ralph Lauren at Downton Abbey

Now, we're as big a fan of Downton Abbey as the next self-respecting lover of Sunday night period dramas (although we will admit our attention began to wane once Matthew had that unfortunate run-in with a car), but we've got nothing on Ralph Lauren who travelled to Hampshire (where the show's filmed) to set up house in the actual Downton Abbey aka Highclere Castle.

The legendary fashion designer, who also sponsors the show in the US (which might explain why he gets to stay there and we don't), proved his status as number one fan as he took up residency in the castle for the weekend with his wife, son David and daughter-in-law Lauren Bush-Lauren.

However, eagled-eyed (and eared) Ralph Lauren fans will already know about his all-consuming love for Downton, after he based his Autumn Winter 2012 collection on the show and sent models down the catwalk to its theme tune.
