Gone Girl fans, rejoice! Author Gillian Flynn has said that she would like to write a sequel to the film version of her bestselling book.
Readers of the book, or viewers of the film, will no doubt be intrigued to know how the Dunnes marriage is getting on (indeed, how it could possibly survive) after the dramatic events thrown at it (don't know what we're talking about? Go and buy a copy of the book, or a copy of the DVD when it's released on February 2nd).
And maybe we'll get to find out after all if Glynn really is serious about penning a new screenplay.
'There could be a sequel at some point if everyone is game to get the gang back together, it could be really fun a few years from now,' Flynn told the New York Daily News.
'We could pick it up and see what those crazy Dunnes are up to a few years down the road and if they got on - not well I don't think.'
But if a sequel did come off, the author would want the same cast to be involved.
'I would have to have the exact same people to do it - I would want Rosamund, Ben and Fincher to do it.'
We can't blame her – Rosamund has already got a slew of nominations under her hat for her portrayal as the troubled (to put it mildly) Amy Dunne. And Ben… well, what's not to like?
Fingers crossed for this one...
