With the hype surrounding Natalie Portman's breathtaking performance as Nina Sayers, it won't be long before swarms of film-fans are flocking to dance studios to try their luck as prima ballerinas.
So, here at InStyle, we thought we'd get in there first and attempt to find our inner poise by taking a ballet lesson at Frame in Shoreditch, London.
After MAC had transformed us with some seriously smoky eyes - inspired by Natalie's stage makeup in the film, we slipped into leotards, ballet slippers and obligatory pink tights by Bloch, and were ready for our moment in the spotlight!
Eager, but not as flexible as we'd hoped, we were given a half hour taster session in which we practised everything from demi plies to light-footed jumps, all to the sounds of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.
We were than treated a screening of the thrilling Black Swan, in the very cosy surroundings of The Aubin Cinema to watch the pros at work.

Having seen the flick, it was clear we had a long way to go before perfecting the beautiful dance, but our first experience was certainly fun!
