The Mayfair streets were swarming with the fash pack and celebs galore as stores from DKNY to Stella McCartney to Tod’s threw open the doors late into the evening as part of a global fashion event to kick off New York Fashion Week.
“I always loved late night shopping on a Thursday but I never get time to do it anymore so this is brilliant,” Stella McCartney told InStyle.
With her Paris show just around the corner, Stella joked with us that she was “all ready and calm” whilst casting a dubious face that suggested otherwise! But she was fully relaxed as she caught up with friends such as Anja Rubik who dropped in to the shop working some killer thigh-high leather boots with a sequin mini dress.
Stella wasn’t the only one enjoying the evening. InStyle caught up with gorgeous top model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who told us she was having a great time despite calling it quits at 8.30pm to head back to her pad for some superfluous beauty sleep.
And Rosie was just one of many models out and about as Pixie Geldof (sporting her new long locks), Alice Dellal and Daisy Lowe also drifted in and out of the various stores where the champagne kept flowing.
And just as the InStyle team stopped to regroup outside Asprey, the beautiful Freida Pinto, in a stunning cobalt blue dress with serious heels, and her charming boyfriend Dev Patel, in a sharp black suit and white shirt made their stylish arrival in a chauffeur-driven car and looked as smitten as ever as they entered the store holding hands.
Safe to say it was a night to remember and the perfect way to kick off Fashion Month. Let the fun commence!
