Last night, ahead of the upcoming BAFTAs, at the soon-to-be-opened The Ivy Soho Brasserie, we threw our annual InStyle EE Rising Star Party. Here, we give you VIP access to everything that happened and, boy, did we get down low…

1. Kate Bosworth’s ‘Boho Couture’
Where does one begin with Kate Bosworth? The actress has a beauty look that could launch a thousand ships, hair that is beyond worth it and, last night, donned a Giambattista Valli dress, threw on some diamonds and channelled ‘boho couture,’ to quote the lady herself. We are not worthy!
2. Anya Taylor Joy Celebrated Her BAFTA Nomination
We have long-championed actress Anya Taylor Joy, who's nominated for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award. Get voting here.
3. Nick’s Decks Spun Us Right Round
Nick Grimshaw, who confessed that his greatest acting performance to date was stealing pick 'n' mix as a child and telling his mum that it was the shopkeeper’s fault, took to the decks and turned The Ivy into Studio 54. The likes of Jordan Stephens, formally of Rizzle Kicks fame and now bonefied Star Wars star (yes, really!), barely left the dancefloor, but who can blame him when George Michael’s Faith was blasting out.
Millie Mackintosh Does Underwear As Outerwear
From MIC to legit designer, Millie Mackintosh attended the bash last night wearing a sheer dress with a silk negligee underlay by Sarah Baadarani. Here’s how to flash the flesh in the classiest of ways, ladies. Racy!
Samantha Barks Gushed About Eddie Redmayne #AWKWARD
Despite attending with new beau Jack Fox, Samantha Barks didn’t hold back when we asked who she'd learnt the most from while filming Les Misreables. ‘Eddie was so incredible, he’s just such an amazing, talented guy and I learnt so much from just being around him.’
Dynamo The Trickster
There’s nothing like a good magic trick to keep the crows entertained, and the man, the myth, the legend Dynamo took that to a whole new level last night. The world’s biggest magician couldn’t resist performing a trick or two as he made his way through The Ivy. Note to self: take a pack of cards everywhere - great for making friends and influencing people.
Dougie Poytner’s Cross Dressing?!
Wearing a Saint Laurent suit, which Dougie classed as an ‘oldie but a goodie,’ the McFly star said the only thing he would never wear is a dress. But with front row tickets coming his way for London Fashion Week (taking place later this month), the king of the male clevage, wouldn’t rule out his head being turned by a dress.
Susie Wokoma (Star Of Chewing Gum) Has A MAJOR Dev Patel Crush
Gushing about BAFTA-nominated Lion, Susie Wokoma told us how she can’t handle Dev Patel's new heartthrob status. ‘I sat there watching Lion just thinking "where did those shoulders come from?" I can’t believe that it is the same boy from Slumdog Millionaire. After the screening Dev came over to say hello and I couldn’t even talk, he was so hot, I couldn’t say a thing.’ Amen, sister!
We Want THAT Mary Katrantzou Dress
The always-glamorous Gemma Chan was in attendance, but it was Fresh Meat and Call The Midwife star Charlotte Ritchie's amazing Mary Katrantzou dress that turned our heads. We're adding it to our shopping list immediately - budget permitting.
Is Charlie Brooker The Mystic Meg of Politics?
Blue Peter legend Konnie Huq talked to us about how her husband Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror is alarmingly accurate. ‘Black Mirror is coming true - it's scary that it's becoming reality - there was even an episode where a cartoon gets elected president and that is basically Donald Trump!’ Charlie Brooker: comedian, tweeter and political genius, it would seem!
The Goody Bag
Naturally, we couldn’t let our guests leave empty-handed. From Got2B hairspray to NailsInc, and some cab journey refreshments for the way home from Propercorn and Evian, we had all bases covered.
Erm, The Drinks - OBVS!
If we weren’t sipping on Bulldog Gin cocktails (see Editor-in-Chief Charlotte Moore and Managing Director of Fashion And Beauty Justine Southall for details) we were swirling our Champagne Tattinger, and our Villa Maria wine, and our Zubrowka Vodka. So it’s safe to say we had a drink for every taste. For those taking dry January into February, we had Bottle Green and Cawston Press on hand for refreshment.
Our VIPs landed at the party in style, of course, in Audis. Casual!
