InStyle met with the stunning Barbara Palvin to talk all things Cannes 2013, being a L’Oréal Paris spokesmodel and why she loves Milla Jovovich.
It’s hard to believe Barbara Palvin is just 19 – the Hungarian model, with her beestung lips and feline look, has already graced the catwalks of designers such as Prada, Vivienne Westwood, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton, and is now making waves as a spokesmodel for L’Oréal Paris - the official make-up artist of the 66th annual Cannes Film Festival 2013.

We caught up with Barbara (seen here wearing the L’Or Sunset collection created especially for Cannes 2013) to get the deets on hitting the red carpet at Cannes, her top beauty picks and being a spokesmodel for L’Oréal Paris.
Last year you chose floor-sweeping gowns, and this year you were sporting a more edgy style. Why have you switched up your fashion approach for this year’s festival?
Actually, I really loved my look last year, and I felt a little pressure to be even better this year. I wanted to do a big surprise and I think [the tuxedo] worked well.
What make up must-have did you have in your clutch bag on the red carpet at Cannes?
I actually had a little compact in the car on the way, so I can just do my nose before I got on the red carpet. It’s L’Oréal True Match.
What was it like being with the other L’Oréal spoke-models? Did you form a particular bond with any of the other ladies?
I always love to meet with my working buddies, because they are all amazing models and actresses. I always wanted to meet with Milla Jovovich because she’s just so beautiful and she’s such a lovely person.
What make-up tricks are you learning from the L’Oréal stylists?
Maybe the eyebrows – before I never really did my eyebrows, and now I do them just a little darker.
Do you follow a particular fitness regime or diet?
I love eating so I don’t want to give up anything, so instead of dieting, I do pilates and yoga. I also love to wander around in the city.
What did you pack in your suitcase for Cannes?
High heels, dresses, shorts – just basic things.
Are there any designers you're loving?
I don’t have a favourite one. It’s more a case of if I love a piece, I buy it. I don’t mind if it’s Chanel, or whatever!
